About the Position: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Procurement Manager to oversee and manage all contractual elements of project execution. The ideal candidate will guide the process from bidding and negotiation through to contract follow-up and final closure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement team activities throughout the project lifecycle, including planning, coordination, and execution.
- Pre-Award: Oversee sourcing, bidding, evaluation, negotiations, and follow-through to award recommendation and final award.
- Post-Award: Supervise expediting activities, including suborders, vendor engineering document submissions (e.g., VDRL), fabrication progress, purchase order (PO) revisions, compliance with PO terms, management of the payment milestone completion validation process, and shipping.
- Draft and prepare term sheets and other relevant documentation.
- Monitor and report the project procurement status.
- Maintain key aspects of major contracts, follow up on risks and mitigating actions, and document procurement processes and contract management items.
- Support project and team activities by acting as a commercial advisor, arranging training, handling disputes, and supporting claim management.
- Develop and continuously improve contract templates, project procurement processes, progress reports, and relevant documents.
- Ensure effective and efficient contract management and order fulfillment.
- Conduct market analysis, develop procurement strategies, and manage supplier prequalification.
- Ensure supply chain sustainability, including environmental and health and safety considerations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Vianode’s code of conduct, local terms, and conditions.
- Utilize Vianode’s technical knowledge and commercial leverage to secure the best commercial and legal terms with suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Project Procurement roles, including Project Procurement management.
- Significant experience in procurement planning and execution for large-scale, multibillion-dollar projects.
- Experience in contract management, particularly in EPCI/EPC support (a strong asset).
- Good knowledge of Canadian law, regulations, terms & conditions, and rates.
- Proven ability to negotiate and administer contracts.
- Excellent communication and management skills.
- Experience working across multiple continents or countries, managing different time zones and locations, with strong multicultural international experience (a significant asset).
- Commitment to health, safety, and sustainability standards.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Work Location: Until a permanent office is established, this position will be a hybrid of remote work and working at partner locations, with frequent travel to and from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Southwestern Ontario.
